Wildebeest Crossing the Mara River into Kenya

Huge herds of wildebeest and zebra thunder down the hills at the Mara River. They mass on the banks, then the back pressure finally makes the first animals take the plunge and begin the swim from Tanzania to Kenya. The swim can be dangerous--hippos can gore the animals, as we saw with a zebra leading his herd. Babies can get crushed or sucked away in the river current. Climbing out of the river can be the most dangerous part….
