Penguin feathers cover the beach at St Andrews Bay, on S Georgia Island. With over 150 million birds, each adult must spend 4-6 weeks moulting its feathers once a year, before its breeds. During the moult, the birds are extremely uncomfortable as new feathers push out the old.
