Godthul Harbour

Godthul Harbour

Landing at Godthul (Norwegian for "good harbor") Whale Oil Processing Station. Closed for many years, whales were brought in large numbers to have blubber stripped and oil processed. Carcasses once filled the harbor and lined the beach, leading to massive piles of whale bones. Now home to a rebounded fur seal colony, along with penguins, bone remnants still litter the beach.
