Baobab Tree-Lake Manyara

Baobab Tree-Lake Manyara

This iconic baobab tree, in the hills above Lake Manyara, is about 2000 years old. Also called the Upside-down Tree, it looses it's leaves in the dry season and can store huge amounts of water. Trees can grow to 100 feet and over 36 feet around. Just guessing, but this one had a diameter of nearly 20 feet.
